A Tax Avoidance Christmas Wish List for Multinationals

FACT Statement on Senate Finance Committee International Tax Working Group Proposals

Washington, DC – The FACT (Financial Accountability and Corporate Transparency) Coalition today released the following statement on the release by the Senate Finance Committee International Tax Bipartisan Tax Working Group Report. The statement is from Executive Director Rebecca Wilkins:

The Business Roundtable is mentioned on page 5 of the report, and sadly no where in the remaining 76 pages is any consumer organization mentioned or any other entity that exists to represent the concerns of everyday citizens, small business owners, and domestic corporations who pay their taxes year in and year out. It’s these people who pay the taxes that constitute a Senator’s paycheck, and yet this report, from calling for a territorial tax system to creating a patent box tax scheme, reads like a tax avoidance Christmas wish list from multinational corporations.”
