The Jubilee USA Network has published a letter in which religious communities to voice their support of beneficial ownership legislation offered through the Corporate Transparency Act (H.R. 2513) and ILLICIT CASH Act (S. 2563).
Jubilee USA sent a letter to the House Financial Services Committee’s Subcommittee on National Security, International Development and Monetary Policy in support of their hearing on “Promoting Corporate Transparency: Examining Legislative Proposals to Detect and Deter Financial Crime.” The letter can be downloaded here.
As faith leaders in Utah, we are concerned with a gaping hole in state and federal law that is having dire consequences throughout the state, country and the world. We feel it is time as citizens to call on our representatives to correct this oversight and give law enforcement the tools they need to protect us and our financial system. It is time to end the legal twilight zone where anonymous shell companies are used to protect criminals.
