Erica Hanichak
Co-Director
Erica Hanichak is an advocacy professional with more than a decade of policy expertise and bipartisan organizing experience, working closely with national security, financial services, law enforcement, and civil society stakeholders. She now serves as Co-Director of the FACT Coalition, where she helps guide the group’s advocacy strategy and governance.
Erica joined the FACT Coalition in 2020 as Government Affairs Director, leading the group’s engagement with federal policymakers. She successfully drove multiple campaigns to improve U.S. financial transparency and advance U.S. anti-money laundering reforms. In 2025, she became Deputy Director of the Coalition. She has testified in both the U.S. House and Senate on financial transparency matters.
Before joining FACT, Erica spent five years working with U.S.-based nonprofits focused on advancing human rights, accountability, and the rule of law in the Middle East. She likewise campaigned to augment counterterror financing programs and prevent the diversion and abuse of U.S. humanitarian aid.
Erica is an ACAMS certified anti-money laundering specialist, a 2025 National Security Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, and a 2022-2023 Penn-Kemble Fellow at the National Endowment for Democracy. She likewise has a certificate in Executive Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University.
She has appeared on Fox News, CBN News, and international television media, and her work and comments have been featured in pieces by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Associated Press, Washington Post, PBS Frontline, and Bloomberg, among others. Erica holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in International Politics, with a focus on International Security and Eurasian Studies.
