Thomas Georges

Policy Officer

Thomas Georges is FACT’s Policy Officer, focusing on international corporate tax and tax transparency initiatives. He leads FACT’s ongoing analysis of corporate tax disclosures and related legislative developments.

Georges is the co-author of FACT’s 2025 report, America-Last and Planet-Last: How U.S. Tax Policy Subsidizes Oil and Gas Extraction Abroad, and his work and comments on international tax issues have been featured in the Financial Times, Forbes, Bloomberg Law, Thomson Reuters, Law360, International Tax Review, TaxNotes, and other trade publications.

A communications and advocacy professional with a passion for social and economic justice, Georges has nearly a decade of experience working with both governmental and private stakeholders on key international and domestic initiatives. From 2018 to 2021 Georges held a number of positions with the U.S.-based non-profit Americans for a Free Syria (AFS), where he advocated on issues including responsible and effective sanctions enforcement, increased U.S. funding to civil society groups, and international diplomatic efforts toward bringing a just end to the Syrian conflict. Prior to his time with AFS, Georges worked as an intern at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Public Affairs, and as a writer and media relations specialist at Hamilton College’s Office of Communications and Development. 

Georges graduated from Hamilton College in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
